Linda Forster came across just that situation while living in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and her 2 year old daughter Alli started showing symptoms of celiac. The doctor she saw informed her that Alli tested positive for celiac and said, "Don't give her gluten. Good luck."
Unsatisfied with such little information and with nowhere to turn for support, Forster set about educating herself on celiac disease and the gluten-free diet and began started her own support group, Gluten Free UAE. Forster plans on many initiatives for the already rapidly growing group such as advocating awareness at schools.
