Is it really gluten-free? That is the question that many people with celiac disease have to ask themselves when buying products at the grocery store considering the horrific fact there there are STILL no gluten-free guidelines from the FDA on labeling.
However, this great article from fitsugar gives great tips on how to go shopping in the grocery store for a gluten-sensitive diet. She gives advice such as contacting the manufacturer of a food you are unsure about, reading labels VERY carefully (many of them say they are gluten-free but have been processed on machinery with other food that contains gluten), and investing in guidebooks or other materials on eating and shopping gluten-free.
